The operational terms below are drafted from how the Glide app actually works. Sections tagged "Needs legal review" are placeholders and must be written or approved by a solicitor before this page goes live. Delete this banner once that review is done.

Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Glide app, this website, and the passenger transport services we provide (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or making a booking, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Needs confirmation: once the Pty Ltd is registered, state its full legal name, ACN and ABN, registered address, and passenger transport accreditation number here. Footers across the site currently read just “Glide” and will need the registered name too.

2. What Glide is

Glide is a pre-booked chauffeur service operating an all-Tesla fleet in Adelaide, South Australia. Every journey is reserved in advance for a confirmed date and time.

Glide is not an on-demand rideshare or taxi service. You cannot hail a vehicle, and we do not dispatch on request. We operate our own vehicles and drivers; we do not take bookings on behalf of other operators.

3. Your account

  • Accounts are created and verified using your mobile phone number and a one-time SMS code.
  • You are responsible for keeping access to that phone number secure, and for all bookings made from your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account.
  • Please keep your name and contact details accurate — your driver uses them to reach you.

4. Making a booking

Bookings are made in the Glide app and are subject to these limits:

  • Advance notice: at least 5 hours before your pickup time.
  • Pickup window: between 4:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
  • Service area: pickup and drop-off must both be within 50 km of the Adelaide CBD.
  • Passengers: 1 to 4 per vehicle.
  • Luggage: flag it when booking so we can allocate a suitable vehicle.
  • Cabin temperature: set anywhere from 16°C to 28°C before your driver arrives.

A booking is only confirmed once payment has succeeded. Until then it is held as pending and no vehicle is allocated.

5. Fares and payment

  • Your fare is calculated from the distance and expected drive time of your route, plus a fixed booking fee.
  • There is no surge pricing. Rates do not change with weather, time of day, or demand.
  • The full fare is quoted before you pay and is locked in at booking. It will not increase because your trip took longer than expected.
  • Payment is taken at the time of booking, by card, through our payment processor Stripe. We do not store your card details.

All fares are in Australian dollars and include the Point to Point Transport Levy described below.

6. Point to Point Transport Levy

South Australian law requires a $2 Point to Point Transport Levy to be collected from the passenger on every journey that begins within the Adelaide metropolitan area. Where the levy applies, it is included in the fare shown to you and itemised at checkout.

The levy is a government charge, not a Glide fee. We collect it and pass it on to the Department for Infrastructure and Transport in full.

7. Changes, cancellations and refunds

  • Before your driver is dispatched: cancel in the app for a full refund.
  • Once your driver is on the way or has arrived: you can still cancel, but the fare is not refunded.
  • To change a booking, cancel it and rebook — the same timing and refund rules apply.
  • If we cancel your booking for a reason within our control, you receive a full refund.

Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Your responsibilities as a passenger

  • Be at the pickup location at the booked time. Drivers wait a reasonable period before the journey is treated as a no-show.
  • Wear a seatbelt and follow reasonable directions from your driver.
  • No smoking or vaping in our vehicles.
  • Treat the vehicle and driver with respect. We may refuse or end a journey where a driver's safety is at risk.
  • You are responsible for the cost of repairing damage or soiling you cause beyond ordinary use.

9. Our vehicles and drivers

We allocate a vehicle from our fleet to each booking. We cannot guarantee a specific vehicle or driver. Journey times are estimates and depend on traffic and road conditions.

10. Lost property

If you leave something behind, contact us as soon as you can and we will try to reunite you with it. We cannot accept responsibility for items left in a vehicle.

11. Liability

Needs legal review: this section must be drafted by a solicitor. It has to sit correctly alongside the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law (which cannot be excluded) and alongside RideGlide's passenger transport accreditation and insurance obligations. Do not publish generic liability wording here.

12. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.

We keep records of each journey — including date and time, pickup and destination, the vehicle used, and the fare and levy charged — because South Australian passenger transport law requires us to retain them and produce them on request.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. The terms that apply to a booking are those in effect when you made it.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia.
